The First Step in Creating Google Form
Once the user has logged into his/her Google account, clicking on the Google Forms Link will provide access to the forms main sheet. The picture below provides option for the user to set the title of the form, and brief description of the form, followed by the question. Optionally, a hint text can be placed to suggest something about the kind of answer expected or even can be a hint.
The next step is to add optional answers to the questions. In this article, a multiple choice type has been chosen. The picture below depicts the same.
The number of options can be easily altered. Optionally, “other” can be one of the options, where the user can insert his own answer which is not present in the multiple choice provided.
In fact, the answer type can be anything: It can be one of the following: Text box, paragraph, date, time, grid, list, etc. Below picture displays the options available in Google forms at the time of writing the article.

Clicking on Done will save the question and the form. In order to add many more questions user just have to add another item by clicking on “Add Item”. The check box “Required Question” will enable to form to strictly ask the user to enter the details before submitting. Think it as options seen with a red asterisk hinting that it is compulsory.
Once the form is done with all the questions and descriptions, it is time to share the form with the audience. To save and generate the permanent link to the form, the user has to simply click on the send option present in the top right corner. Google then, asks you to enter the list of mail IDs to whom you can send the link for the forms.
The best thing is that, the details entered in the form always gets saved in an excel sheet. The data will only be available to the author of the form.
